Barbara Owens-Dewitt, CPA

Barbara’s professional career began at KPMG Peat Marwick and their predecessor firm, Baker Newman Noyes where she practiced for 13 years. Her next two positions found her based in New York City and Chicago. She is looking forward to returning to a local firm to work with various small businesses, non-profit organizations and individuals to meet their tax and accounting needs.

Barbara graduated from the University of Maine in Orono with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education in 1990 and an MBA in 1993. She received her Certified Public Accountant designation from Maine in 1995. Barbara has served on the boards of several local non-profit agencies and is currently volunteering at McAuley Residence in Portland, Maine. In addition to her excitement about returning to serving clients she is equally excited about working locally and giving back to the community that has provided so much to her, personally and professionally. A proud native of South Boston, Massachusetts, Barbara now resides in Gorham, Maine with her husband Jeffrey, daughters Madeleine and Gracie, as well as three Persian cats. While a lifetime devotee of Newfoundland dogs, she and her family will be adding a Bernese Mountain dog to the family.
